Smart Possibilities

Hello! My name is Pari Smart, and I am so glad you stopped by my website.

I created Smart Possibilities because I want to help you lead the life you want to live unencumbered by negativity, self-defeating thoughts, and burnout. I connect people to the tools they need to be a little bit more successful every day, a little bit happier every day, and a little bit more satisfied with the quality of their life everyday.

I have been a coach and trainer for more than 20 years and work with individuals from all walks of life. I individualize my approach based on your needs, pulling from a combination of neuroscience, positive psychology, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, wellness, and proven leadership practices, to create a coaching experience that meets you were ever you are.

Education & Certifications

I am a lifelong learner and every time I study something, I stumble on one or two other topics that grab my interest and takes me on a new journey. This allows me to constantly add more tools to my coaching practice and find more ways to help people grow.

Using Positive Psychology

Simply put positive psychology is the science of human flourishing. Where traditional psychology focuses on fixing what was wrong with people, positive psychology offers a paradigm shift and focus’ on “what’s right” with people. This is important because while treating and curing mental illness is vital, traditional psychology misses the opportunity to serve over 85% of the population who don’t have a diagnosed disorder. Twenty-five years ago, positive psychology began to fill that gap by offering science-based interventions to help everyone increase their wellbeing and happiness quotients no matter their starting point. We all have the opportunity to go “north of neutral” and be better than fine.

But keep in mind, positive psychology is about a lot more than just “being happy.” Positive psychology focus’ on increasing positive emotions to build your resilience, increasing engagement for better outcomes, strengthening relationships for stronger social ties, discovering your own meaning and purpose, celebrating personal and professional achievements, and promoting vitality and individual well-being.

So you see, positive psychology has something for all of us. Let’s talk about your starting point and use the science to explore your possibilities.

If you are ready to LEARN something different so you can DO something different, reach out!  I am ready to help you discover your possibilities.

You could say I am a bit of an adventure junkie!

When I am not learning something new, I am experiencing something new. I have traveled solo through Cambodia, Costa Rica, and Panama, hiked the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, attended cooking school in Mexico, and traveled across the US (several times) by motorcycle with my boyfriend, Jeff.

Originally from Omaha, NE, I now live in Dallas, TX, but with the help of technology, I work with clients all over the world. I have even been known to jump on a Zoom call at 11 p.m. to accommodate clients “Down Under.” If you are ready to learn something different so you can do something different, I hope you’ll reach out. I am ready to help you discover your possibilities.

Why the Dragonfly?

Some people are afraid of heights. Some people are afraid of spiders. I, until 12 year ago, had an unexplainable fear of dragonflies.

In 2010 I was going through a painful divorce and took a solo trip to Cambodia to regroup and plan for whatever was “next.” One day, as I was walking through a market, a woman selling decorative plates called me over and told me that she had “just the plate for me.” It was black with a mother-of-pearl dragonfly embedded on it. I assured her that while I would look at her plates, the one she chose was definitely not for me!

I still remember her response clearly in my mind. She replied, “You are mistaken. The dragonfly is the national symbol of Cambodia and just like the people of Cambodia, you are ready to flourish.” I realize that she might have said that line to many people that day, but it resonated with me in a way that was truly life changing. It spoke to me on a personal level and she seemed to articulate the words that I needed to hear.

As I left the market with not one, but three, dragonfly plates under my arm. Those plates are my reminders that I can choose to change, that I can choose to learn, and I can choose to flourish.

It was a surreal day and I immediately started reading everything I could find about dragonflies and the meaning associated with them. I discovered that in almost every part of the world, the dragonfly symbolizes change, transformation, adaptability, and growth.

As I was preparing to open Smart Possibilities, the dragonfly was the obvious symbol to represent the change, transformation, and growth I had experienced and knew that I could help others experience too.
If you, like the dragonfly, are ready to take charge of your own wellbeing and flourish, reach out. I am ready to hold your plate as you begin your journey.
